We offer wholesale Ceylon cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum), known as true cinnamon, from Karandeniya in the Galle District of Sri Lanka. The supplier is a registered Sri Lankan spice exporter and wholesaler that sources, grades and packs cinnamon for international buyers.
How it is made: mature cinnamon stems are cut, and the outer bark is scraped away. Skilled peelers remove the thin inner bark and roll the layers by hand into long quills. The quills are dried until they reach their light brown to golden colour, sweet aroma and delicate flavour. They are then inspected and sorted by diameter, colour, texture and cleanliness into commercial grades.
Grades available: Alba, C5 Special, C5, C4, M5, M4, H1, H2 and H3, plus cinnamon powder. Quillings, featherings and chips can be supplied on request. Typical quill diameters: C5 Special 8 to 12 mm, C5 12 to 16 mm, C4 16 to 18 mm, M4 18 to 20 mm, H1 23 to 25 mm, H2 25 to 37 mm.
